If you’d like to find out more about the region’s history, we invite you to visit Tournon-sur-Rhône and its listed castle museum, as well as the Papeteries Canson museum in the birthplace of the Montgolfier brothers, the Musée du Cuir et du Parchemin in Annonay and the Musée de l’Alambic in Saint-Désirat.

For nature walks, visit the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors and the Parc Naturel du Pilat. Here you can enjoy hiking and cycling. Our favorite Notre-Dame d’Ay: a sanctuary in the commune of St Romain d’Ay.

We’ve put together a series of signposted HIKES of varying difficulty: the Fourany walk, the Bel-Air walk, the Montbard walk, the Moulinaud walk, the Lac des Meinettes walk and Les Vignes de Champal.

These hiking maps are available at reception. You take them, walk around and put them back!

Cycling enthusiasts can conquer the region: Descente de Saint-Régis, Les maisons fortes de Quintenas à Ardoix, Le Grand-Moulinaud, Les gorges de l’Ay d’Ardoix. Don’t miss the riverside walks in Sarras and Tournon.

The Ardèche is a children’s paradise. We recommend a visit to Valrhona’s Cité du Chocolat, where we reveal all the secrets of chocolate on an interactive, gourmet tour. And don’t miss Oasis Aventura Park, for a thrilling ride, and Crocodile Farm, to learn more about reptiles.

The region is known for its many activities. Just 30 minutes away, don’t miss the Peaugres Safari, where you can discover animal species in over 80 hectares of natural surroundings. 45 minutes away, in Hauterives, discover the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval, the work of a letter carrier completed in 33 years. Visit the Gorges du Doux by Vélorail, an unmissable activity. Take a cliffside train ride on the Train de l’Ardèche. Travel back in time and discover the sparkling Grotte de Choranche, 1 h 30 away. And last but not least, don’t miss the Château de Crussol, an 11thᵉ century edifice.
